Our Produce

Abbotsleigh Citrus takes special care in utilising strict quality control methods. Regardless of whether our citrus is in season, we are constantly monitoring and nurturing our trees to ensure each year’s crop offers the same premium standard of produce as the last.

Our orchard is currently home to six varieties of citrus. The table below lists a few facts about the different varieties we offer; where you can find them; and when they are available throughout the year.

Imperial Mandarins	Imperial mandarins are small and easy to peel, which makes them perfect for school lunches. Combined with their ideal balance of sugar to acid ratio, they are a favourite among many mandarin lovers.	Coles & Woolworths Aldi Local Grocers Export Available individually and pre-packed. Navel Oranges	Imported from Spain originally, the Navelina is an early maturing, seedless variety with a higher juice content than most other oranges. With its deep, vibrant colouring and delicious flavour, the navelina is a favoured orange variety.	Local Grocers	May
Hickson Mandarins	The Hickson has a high juice content, which unlike other mandarins, it is able to maintain throughout the season. It is one of the largest mandarin varieties and has a vibrant orange-red colouring.	Coles & Woolworths Aldi Local Grocers Available individually and pre-packed.	June - July
Murcott Mandarins	This variety is said to be a cross between a sweet orange and mandarin hybrid. They are slightly seedier than other mandarins but their higher sugar content makes them an excellent substitute for fresh orange juice.
